What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
The first session is mostly a fact find, we explore what is going on, as I look for patterns. How clients are feeling, what was going on at the time, what the client needed. A gentle relaxation hypnotherapy (where client remains in control), where I am already priming their unconscious mind with what it is they DO want.
Second and subsequent sessions are where the magic really begins to happen! Clearing unwanted emotional baggage, faulty thinking or habits that are no longer. Most sessions include a guided hypnosis that allows changes to be made easily and effortlessly.
If I asked you to remember the name of your first pet, or the colour of your first front door, you could probably retrieve the information. Before asking you, it was stored in your unconscious mind.
I work at this level of the mind. It is said by leaders in the field of research that we operate about 5% of our time consciously, the rest is Unconscious. This is the part of the brain that stores memory, emotions, and keeps our body working doing all the things that it needs to do, breathe, digest, excrete, pumping blood through our body etc.
This is where we store our emotions, thoughts, experiences etc. After finding the root cause, to change any emotional charge around a memory, thought, experience or event. I then work on replacing these old ways of being with new and empowering ones that the client would like.
I ask that the client has their eyes closed so that they can can go inwards to focus on what I am guiding them to do. They remain in control and only do what I ‘suggest’ with anything not accepted being rejected. The client remains in control at all times.
I do find some clients fall asleep when I do some of the trance work, and that is even better, as I am working with their unconscious mind which is on 24 x 7 (to keep us safe) and their conscious mind is out of the way!
